Back in the 70s, we used to hang around and play guitar together a LOT. We had great songs that we practiced together at least once a week, and were good enough as a group to play out occasionally. Our friends heard the songs so often, that they sang along, and then......kids, life, moving, things change.
Well, the kids are gone, and I know you can't go back, don't want to, not trying to. But I did pick up the guitar again, and found it REALLY, REALLY difficult to find the old music lyrics, much less chords. I think others may be in the same boat, so i thought when I found rare lyrics or figured out the chords to a song, or already had something elusive in my posession, maybe I should post it somewhere for other determined souls to find. Thus, This blog.
I like to play and sing in the key of G. It is an easy key, and works well with my voice. I tend to use a capo on the 2nd fret for a lot of songs too. If you like a different key, and don't know how to transpose to that key, write me, I'll be happy to do a post on it. I love songs that are fun and easy to play. This is one of those wonderful western sounding songs....even about trains....that people love. To hear the song done by Tranquility, go to youtube.com .
I will try to type with space so that you can copy and then put in chords and I will include chords where I can. If you have some great older folk/sing along type music you would like to share, please do. If I hit on something here that you are happy to have found, please let me know :)
My first offering is From the album SILVER, by Tranquility.
